Get to Know PLI TOSA Montoya Mayo
Montoya Mayo is a passionate educator whose philosophy is rooted in being a “warm demander”, someone who combines high expectations with deep care and support. With 17 years of experience in education, her journey began as an after-school educator offering homework support, dance fitness, poetry enrichment, SEL classes, and summer writing camps. These early experiences laid the foundation for her teaching superpower: student engagement. Montoya went on to thrive as an upper elementary teacher, known for creating dynamic, inclusive learning environments. Across all her roles, she has specialized in designing user-friendly guides and tools that make learning more accessible for students, families and educators, ensuring clarity, confidence, and connection in every learning experience. Montoya is one of the Professional Learning Team members here at Visions In Education. The Professional Learning Team provides professional learning, coaching & consultation, and instructional best practices action research to ensure all Visions educators can provide students with high levels of learning. Our team is staffed with grade level, subject matter and educator competency expertise to ensure Visions staff have access to comprehensive support. Montoya is skilled in student engagement, data-driven instructional design, adult learning, and microlearning content development.
