Visions In Education’s Professional Learning & Innovation (PLI) Department is partnering with the Sacramento County Office of Education to deliver a series of asynchronous workshops on Instructional Best Practices for teachers across Sacramento county! The intent of this partnership is to offer professional learning based on models we use at Visions in order to increase academic outcomes for students. This is the very same content that each of Visions’ academies and instructional departments have access to, tailored specific to how students receive instruction and support.
Throughout this series, our PLI team highlights practices used by our teachers and educators that have worked well so that we may learn new ways to help students learn standards and grow. Here at Visions, we call these practices Instructional Best Practices (IBPs).
The series begins by exploring the refreshed California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP) in order to spark reflection and generally strengthen teaching practices. From there, each workshop dives deeper into a plethora of topics, from making learning standards more accessible and equitable to bridging the gap between student’s current abilities and their learning goals.
