Rain or Shine, Our Staff is Saving Lives:
Visions Staff Blood Drive 2026

At Visions, our commitment to serving students goes hand in hand with supporting the communities around us. Whether inside or outside the virtual classroom, we are always looking for meaningful ways to make a difference.

On April 22, Visions proudly hosted a Staff Blood Drive in partnership with Vitalant, resulting in the donation of nearly 40 pints of blood.

The need for blood donations remains critical. Every day across the United States, patients require approximately 30,000 units of red blood cells, along with thousands of units of platelets and plasma. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood—making each donation a potentially life-saving act.

Despite some rainfall throughout the day, over 40 dedicated Visions staff members—11 of which were first-time donors—showed up ready to be someone’s lifeline. With each donation capable of saving up to three lives, the collective impact of this effort is significant.

Donations took place in Vitalant bloodmobiles stationed in the parking lot of the Visions office in Gold River.

Among the first to roll up their sleeves were Visions Superintendent & Executive Director Dr. Steve Olmos, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Micah Studer, Chief Strategy Officer Tom Tafoya, and Chief Operations Officer Michael Brubaker.

“I was so proud to see the entire organization and Marketing & Communications team come together to coordinate a successful event that helps make an impact in the community.  Schoolwide, we had over 40+ come together and contribute to this effort!!” – Tom Tafoya, Chief Strategy Officer

We extend our sincere thanks to every Visions staff member who contributed to this life-saving effort. Your generosity and willingness to give back truly embody the spirit of our organization.
