Each year the Staples Foundation allows their associates around the world to select local nonprofits to receive funding. The grant is part of the 2 Million & Change program and it encourages and supports local community engagement, educational, and job-related efforts.
This year Visions In Education was chosen to receive a $3,500 grant to support our Independent Study Academy. The money will be used for a new “Reach Your Potential” scholarship program that will support our 9-12 Independent Study graduates and provide them additional funds to further their higher education goals. Staples chose Visions due to our commitment to improving our local community and support for at-risk youth.
Visions is honored to be recognized and rewarded for our education efforts. We strive to offer our students as many resources as possible to ensure their success in a rapidly changing world. We thank the Staples Foundation and our local Staples associate, Brandon Kavrell, for his recommendation and support.
In 2015, Staples distributed over $2.5 million in grants to 875 organizations to support various programs like job readiness for the homeless, academic scholarships, career exploration for high school students, and more.
