When it came time to start high school, Olenka had a vision for her future and goals she was eager to pursue.
She chose Visions’ University Prep Academy for the flexibility to complete her schoolwork on a schedule that worked for her while gaining the skills and credits needed to prepare for higher education.
Now a junior on track to graduate a year early, Olenka continues to explore her interests, take advantage of new opportunities and work toward a future that is becoming clearer than ever.
Throughout her time at Visions, one of Olenka’s favorite aspects has been the opportunities available to her.
“I had more life-changing experiences through Visions than if I went to a regular high school.”
For example, Olenka has participated in the Future Business Leaders club, where she has explored her interests in business and real estate while connecting with other students who share her passions.
Earlier this year, she and her peers traveled to Boston to compete in the Junior Achievement Future Bound competition. As part of this experience, they were featured in a docuseries documenting their involvement. Check it out here!
Beyond student clubs and events, Olenka has also built meaningful relationships with her credentialed teacher and counselor, who have supported her throughout her educational journey.
“They show respect to all of their students and provide wise knowledge. They are great teachers and mentors to have in life!”
Outside of academics and school activities, Olenka enjoys photography, reading and baking. She is also passionate about nutrition, taking care of herself and staying active by going to the gym.
“Visions allowed me to explore these passions of mine through college classes being provided and through enrichment vendors.”
As she looks ahead, Olenka is working toward her goal of becoming a scrub nurse, with plans to eventually become a nurse practitioner. Through her personalized education experience, she continues to build the foundation and explore the opportunities that will help her pursue a career in health care.
When asked what advice she would share with a student considering enrolling at Visions, Olenka emphasized the support and resources available to help students succeed.
“I would have to say that this would be a great fit for them, since Visions provides all the resources that a student would need, from support and tutoring to more.”
