At Visions, we believe that extracurricular activities are just as important as academics. By joining a club/organization or attending an in-person event students can develop new skills, make friends with similar interests and have fun.
We’re proud to offer over 85 student clubs for a variety of different interests like basketball, photography, running, reading, STEAM, heritages, the environment, cooking, the military, teen parenting and more!
We support student success by creating higher education opportunities. We provide access to community college courses for qualified students through Dual Enrollment Programs. Students can choose from a list of approved courses taught virtually by college professors.
For many of our students, we also help cover the costs of materials and textbooks for these classes while enrolled allowing them to simultaneously earn college and high school credits.
Career Technical Education (CTE) provides courses that integrate technical training and academics to help students develop the knowledge needed to transition to career training, college and the workforce. Did you know healthcare is currently one of the fastest growing career sectors in California and the nation? Visions offers the Medical Careers CTE Pathway to Independent Study and University Prep students who intend to enter the growing healthcare career field.
The curriculum, taught by a Visions teacher, focuses on the skills needed to be successful in any career involving healthcare. This pathway also includes certifications and guest speakers.
Gaming is one of the most popular career exploration choices for teens. The Career Technical Education (CTE) Game Design & Simulation Pathway is designed for Independent Study and University Prep students who are looking to learn the fundamentals of game design.
The curriculum, taught by a Visions teacher, focuses on foundational knowledge including programming in JavaScript, drawing in Pixilart and creating original games. This pathway also includes essential programming techniques and guest speakers.
Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing technology fields and our Cybersecurity Pathway is designed for students interested in a career in cybercrime prevention. This is a two-course pathway that provides the technical understanding of networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism required of all entry-level IT positions.
By completing this pathway, students will have an understanding of academic and career paths they can take to achieve their future goals, including community colleges, trade schools, and 4-year college IT programs.
Interested in technology, coding, or how tools like AI actually work? Visions In Education is launching a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Career Technical Education course designed for students who want to explore one of the fastest-growing fields in the world.
In this course, you’ll learn how AI systems think, analyze data, and solve real-world problems. Students will build hands-on projects using tools like ChatGPT and other AI platforms while learning programming, machine learning basics, and the ethical impacts of AI.
By the end of the course, you’ll create a digital portfolio of AI projects, strengthen teamwork and problem-solving skills, and gain experience in a career field shaping the future. By completing this pathway, students will have an understanding of academic and career paths they can take to achieve their future goals, including community colleges, trade schools, and 4-year college IT programs.
Interested in building things and learning real construction skills? Visions In Education is launching the Intro to Construction Structured Directed Project, a course that lets students explore careers in the construction trades while earning academic credit.
Students will learn tool safety, construction math, blueprint reading, and hands-on building skills through a mix of flexible online coursework and in-person training at Northern California Construction Training (NCCT) at Cal Expo in Sacramento.
The course also includes VR simulations, field trips to local job sites, and guest speakers from the construction industry.
By the end of the course, students will gain foundational construction skills, teamwork experience, and real-world exposure to trade careers, helping prepare them for future college or career pathways.

Visions offers mentoring programs to enrich the lives of all students by providing them with opportunities to build relationships with caring individuals who empower and encourage them. Visions offers a variety of mentorship options including Mindset Academy, Bridge To College and the Success Through Education Mentoring (STEM) program, in partnership with University of California, Davis. The goal of these programs is for students to experience success, fulfill their potential, build community and prepare for life after high school.
Visions offers a broad range of support services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our dedicated team includes social workers, school counselors, a foster and homeless liaison and more to provide pivotal and specialized services. We believe that education is not just about academics but also about addressing the unique circumstances of each student.
Additionally, we offer a “Parent University” program and we’re partnered with a variety of community partners to support our families including Care Solace to provide mental health resources.
This writing class is designed to manifest a creative and safe environment for students in grades 6-12 to realize that we are all writers. Students read, discuss and write during class. Students have the opportunity to share their work, but it’s never required. All work written in class is treated as fiction and all feedback is positive.
Students are allowed to blossom as writers and discover their writing voice in a structured environment in which new writing is treated gently and with honor. The high school class culminates with the publication of a book in partnership with 916 Ink and the middle school class creates an anthology.
Visions In Education is proud to provide students with visual and performing arts classes, field trips, and events. Visions’ Arts program invites students to explore all that the arts have to offer innovative minds through visual art, music and theater in grades TK-12.
Students in each academy have arts programs tailored to their unique education plan, designed to enrich their education and support their post-graduation plans.
Visions In Education students in all grade levels have the opportunity to take live daily classes taught by credentialed teachers. These classes help students engage with their studies, provides opportunities for student-teacher interaction, and provides socialization opportunities.
